What came first, the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over.
Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss.
Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?

We are done, now let's start

I was listening to this on my way to the Brain Injury rehab unit this morning.  It made me smile (as did the Tram Conductor dressed as an elf).

Unwritten
Natasha Bedingfield
Reached No 6 in the UK Charts in 2006

I am unwritten,
Can't read my mind
I'm undefined
I'm just beginning
The pen's in my hand
Ending unplanned

I suddenly feel like a weight has lifted.  The last assessment is done.  I get the feedback on the 6th and then we stop looking at what doesn't work so well anymore, stop thinking about quantifying problems and work on solutions instead.

I bumped into Caroline down there too and said hi in person.  I suspect bikes and writers group may feature in my future, she is very persuasive and more motivated than me :-)

The eye tests weren't too painful, not least because they confirmed no nerve damage.  How I got away with that I don't know.  My astigmatism has got a bit worse because the muscles are weaker so I need to wear my glasses all the time.  I thought I would end up looking like Velma, it has happened before but I was watching 'Every Day Is Like Sunday' and once Manda has finished shaving the back and sides the hair combined with glasses might mean I actually become Morrissey... if I dye it red it will be Morrissey mixed with La Roux....
