The spiritual home of Championship Vinyl where life, music and top 5's combine like a very cheesy fondue
What came first, the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over.
Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss.
Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?

U don't wanna touch this
Happy Birthday wherever you are Rick James
1st February 1948 - 6th August 2004
Rick James was probably more famous for his wild lifestyle than his music. He was a known cocaine addict and his habit brought lawsuits, charges of abduction and torture and a stint in prison down on his head. His grave stone reads:
I've had it all
I've done it all
I've seen it all
It's all about love...
God is love
This is probably his best known track, not least because that baggy trousered rascal M C Hammer sampled it on the annoyingly catchy 'U Can't Touch This'. Rolling Stone magazine ranked it 477 of the 500 greatest songs of all time. I suppose it could be termed disco funk maybe? And what a video, glittery dreads, bad wigs and a collection of dancing girls who may or may not have been casted straight off the streets. Well, whatever it is I still love this song, even if it does make me feel slightly dirty afterwards...
